My final year begins

After much reading I feel that I'm finally starting to formulate an idea which could constitute a final year project. I think the I am going to develop a tool which could be used to visualise security logs. This will enable me to create a scalable final year project which I hope will be challenging and still create a real-world tool. After reading applied security visualisation (already some of it) I think I'd like to start by trying to create a visual representation of packets captured on a network kind of like etherape. However by using a language such as Java and creating a browser-based tool I can vastly improve the HCI and expand its capabilities. This should be submitted by Friday however I feel I should check this with my project manager.
